The WAF, or the World Architecture Festival, is a networking platform to meet new people, exchange know-hows, explore inspirations, and to build a global reputation for over 2,000 famous architects and designers from 70 countries around the world. In other words, it’s comparable to the Oscar Night, but for architects and designers instead. This year, it was organized at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 29 November to 1 December 2023.
With WAF – a grand festival for architects and designers and platform for exchanging ideas, perspectives, and business encouragement, as well as elevating the bar of the architectural industry, Dsign Something today would love to bring everyone closer to the event through activities and embrace all with the atmosphere of the recent World Architecture Festival
(WAF) 2023.
Interesting activities at the World Architecture Festival 2023 (WAF)
Activities at WAF 2023 were held for 3 days straight (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from November 29 to December 1, 2023. There were loads of activities to join and participate in, including:
Live Awards Judging – a stage to showcase new designs and ideas
Within the event, there were balloon pavilions where contestants could display and present their works based on the category they participated in, with 10 minutes available to each for
presentation and an 8-minute Q&A session. It was a perfect time to cascade know-hows and inspirations to all the audience. With the balloon pavilions, the audience could decide to join the topic they were interested in.
The Festival Hall – a special exhibition of future products
Within the WAF 2023, apart from session activities that helped broaden your ideas, there were also interesting displays and exhibitions. For this year, it was the exhibition of EJ – 50,
showcasing the private collection of over 56 design models created by Le Corbusier from RT + Q Architecture.
Keynotes and Talks – a sharing platform for further development
Among all the stages that focused on architectural works throughout the 3-day event, another highlight is the main stage where there were a huge lineup of speakers from various countries such as Andrew Chen, Design Director from Cendes Design, Johanna Hurme, Co-Founder of 5468796 Architecture Inc., Honor Harger, Vice President Lecturer, Singapore Arts and Sciences Museum/Tourist attractions at Marina Bay Sands, etc., sharing their ideas and inspirations for
new alternative designs.
Architecture Tours – Study the concept of architecture in different contexts
As the WAF 2023 was held in Singapore, a country surrounded by iconic buildings that are outstanding for sustainability in design, architecture tours were a good idea, during which guests are guided to explore interesting buildings all over the country.
Architects ่Playground – a relaxing space to unleash your ideas
The most creative rest area, which was very suitable for such an event where architects from various countries gathered. It was a seating area where Lego toys were provided so that all the
architects could unwind and entertain themselves with those bricks and unleash their ideas through the activity.
Networking Session – a place to meet and build international connections
Because the World Architecture Festival (WAF) was organized to gather architects and designers from different countries, it was the right platform to exchange know-hows and updates while also enlarging your networks with new people in the architectural field.
Gala Dinner – a night of celebration
The gala night of celebration and awards was held on Friday, December 1 st , which was the final night of WAF 2023.
